Clip’s visual identity is documented for humans and coding agents in the repo root as DESIGN.md (Google design.md format: YAML tokens + ordered prose).

Lineage

We intentionally adopt Family-lane discipline from Benji Taylor’s writing — especially Family Values: simplicity through gradual revelation, fluidity through seamless transitions, delight through selective emphasis (see also Honkish for the playfulness spectrum and Morphing icons with Claude for meaningful visual continuity vs lazy crossfades).

Collections of example DESIGN.md files for other brands live in awesome-design-md.

Updating preferences

When your taste changes, ask the agent to follow .agents/skills/design-system/SKILL.md: it keeps DESIGN.md and src/app/globals.css in sync so tokens stay honest.
